FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Commemorative CD Features Talent From Across CanadaWinnipeg April 20, 2005—Fourteen months and talented artists from every province in Canada went into the creation of the new Canadian Commemorative CD, ‘Remember’, a unique compilation celebrating The Year of The Veteran. Canada’s finest talent, such as Alberta’s popular baritone Michael Carey—who was produced by Randy Bachman—to Vancouver’s jazz treasure Juno-nominated Denzal Sinclaire, perform everything from Motown, Pop/Rock, R & B and much more. Songs from 1939-1946 have been dramatically reworked to incorporate today’s musical sensibilities into yesterday’s music. “The passion and talent of the artists shine on each of the tracks. Each of which recognizes the beauty, love and life of a time difficult for today’s generation to understand. The music thanks the Veterans in a way that transcends generations,” said Zane Zalis, producer/arranger of ‘Remember’. “These are not just your standard remakes and are sure to entertain and engage the listener.” A project of this proportion and focus has never been done before. The CD also includes Original War Broadcasts, courtesy of the CBC and an interview with World War II Veteran Flight Lieutenant George Waters, C.D. ‘Remember’ was released at 11:30AM, Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver during a Veteran’s Affairs ceremony, which will award 13 commendation medals to Veterans, each who will receive a copy of the CD. The launch date for Winnipeg is not yet released. |
